Mankinholes Cottages

These cottages in Mankinholes are possibly the oldest in the village - they date from the early 18th century.
The occupants at the time would have been agricultural workers, but who supplemented their income by hand-loom weaving.  The rows of windows on the upper floor were to allow enough light into the weaving loft for this to be done.
