Spokes Ride to West Linton

A bit chilly today, and there is quite a strong wind. I have decided the ride should go to West Linton. The route manages to avoid cycling in to the wind for most of it. There is the ride across the Moor Rd, which does mean we are exposed. Not that you would know from the photo above.

In West Linton, some of us go to the CoOp to get something extra to go with lunch. However it is quite cold and no one wants to sit around for long.

We continue on south through Bogsbank to the A701 Moffat road south of Romannobridge. From here we turn North to Whitmuir Organic Farm for well deserved coffee and cake.

The wind does not change, and so the ride back in to Edinburgh doesn't take too long. To avoid Auchendinny Brae, we head down past Pomathorn to Penicuik., and then through Milton Bridge to Gowkley Moss roundabout, Bush. From there its on to the Seafield Moor Road to Fairmilehead and the end of the ride.
