Badgered Fox

Herts & Middex Wildlife Trust do a really good job locally, as I've said before, maintaining a multitude of reserves and smaller wildlife areas.

Tonight we spent a couple of hours in Tewin Orchard Badger Hide and we were delighted to observe 8 badgers and 4 foxes, all munching away on supper right infront of us.

A fox arrived first, when the light was better, so s/he's my main blip. I needed a longer exposure for the badger and have put him/her as an extra.

They tolerated eachother but it was evident that the badgers had the upper hand as the foxes were put in their place several times.

This was a lovely way to end what has so far been the warmest day of the year at 33C. It was definitely a day to enjoy the pool... but Anthony walked into town with his friends who'd slept over... to play the new virtual Pokemon game on their phones. Madness! This new craze seems to be spreading like wildfire and is inexplicably addictive. The only upside I can see over other mindless screen games is that it does get them outside. but then they talk gibberish to eachother about the game and become obsessed.
