Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

By NannaK

Foraging for lunch

Friend K and I foraged on the beach today for more goodies with which to make lunch.  She already had some but we found some more rock weed (lots of that, the small bits are the best, some stonecrop (here she is looking for the ones that turn reddish with more sun), sea asparagus, a kind of sedge and dried kelp.—the extra)  If we'd been nativevamericans we would be gathering them in a cedar basket, not a ziplock bag!   She sautéed them with rice and it was very flavorful and yummy!
It was windy all day but 3 out of 4 of us had a row in the Swan anyway, and I was glad I did as there were 3 harbor seal pups in our bay .. This newborn in the extra made many attempts to join Mom on a steep rock but kept falling back in the water.   Mom didn’t seem too concerned.   Would have blipped the seals but hopefully I can get more but friends leave early in the morning…

Lots of seal pup pictures and more of our meal will have to wait for time tomorrow and flickr…too late:  too tired.  a nice day.  P made Risotto with prawns they had caught earlier.
