Visit to Sherborne

We visited Sherborne today, a beautiful small market town in Dorset, famous for its Abbey, two castles and its beautiful Georgian architecture.
It was, of course, very, very hot and there were times when I felt as though I was wandering around a small town in France.  It was, for a start, relatively quiet and to be able to explore its narrow streets with an architectural gem around every corner and see the Abbey without hordes of people was such a treat.
We also had a long lunch in the welcoming gloom of a restaurant we found on Trip Advisor and, again, we were not disappointed.
The only downside, of course, is that the quality of photographs on a very hot day is never ideal.
