WildWednesday16: Sir Downy

Realized that I haven't 'featured' a Downy Woodpecker for a while. So here's a little male. I watched as he flew into the Winged Elm with a Ruby-throated Hummer right on his tail. Poor thing, all he wanted was to get to the feeders full of BarkButter. Hummingbirds don't bother with the BarkButter and Sir Downy here wouldn't even think of trying to sip nectar of any sort. Still, the very territorial little male Hummers will try to chase away any bird or even squirrels within a stone's throw of 'Their' Feeders. I often get 'buzzed' as well!
