Mont Blanc summit

My husband and a climbing friend climbed Mont Blanc this morning. They climbed the harder and less common route, leaving from the Italian side and using no lifts. A long hard up yesterday to a bivi hut and then set off from there at 2am this morning. Got to the summit about 8.15am. As they got to the summit they were greeted by hordes of others who had come up from the French side!
A long hard slog back down - a 15 hour day climbing. He says his feet are wrecked and not a pretty sight!!!
He's back at the apartment and enjoying some much needed and earned beers.
