Life through the lens...

Clear off!

A very full day out with friends A and K.
A drive over to North Cave Wetlands.
Beautiful morning spent in the various hides, and walking round the lakes, and through such an abundance of wild flowers. ( see extra)
The only disappointment was there were no avocets, which we had promised our friends they would see.
The first time we have not seen any here.
Finished off with a late lunch of a proper burger from the Wild Bird Cafe.

Then over to the east coast, and Bempton Cliffs to see the cliffs full of sea birds.
Kittiwakes, Guillemots, Razorbills,Herring gulls, Gannets, and just a few Puffins.
It always amazes me to see them nesting on the cliff sides. How on earth they don't fall off, especially when their new chicks are now bigger than their mum and dad.   (See extra photo.)
A few squabbles here and there, which is why I liked this shot of the gannets.
I think one was encroaching onto the others space .

To finish off a great day, we called for fish and chips on the way home.
Great cafe on the A64 near York.

Now off to bed, and I think we will all sleep well!
