Grignan

Following an extended family picnic, we all visited the nearby town of Grignan where, after a brief exploration of the narrow streets surrounding its château, we sheltered from the baking heat under the parasol of a bar. The girls, Mme A and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary with a good meal before we all went up to the château to see a production of Don Quixote. This made good use of the façade of the château to project both still and live images, and some of the staging was excellent. However, with a better understanding of French I'd have made more of it and realised, like Mme A, that it was a bit of a mess (perhaps in keeping with the book).
