Americas Cup World Series Practice Day

We were lucky enough to be taken to Portsmouth to see the Americas Cup sailing practice day. Now I know nothing about sailing so I was looking for the kind of action shots that looked exciting ina photo. Sadly the wind wasn't strong enough to get the AC45 craft up on their hydrofoils It was a beautiful warm day, much better than it looks in these photos and earlier we were treated to a superb display by the Red Arrows.

My main blip is a bit of close racing as the catamarans make a turn with Sir Ben Ainslie's Landrover BAR in the centre. In the extras is a shot of him making ground on the American title holders and the third is 'Rita' the name of the Landrover BAR catamaran lifing a hull on a turn.

Sir Ben won the first two races and came fourth in the second two. It really was a great spectacle and a wonderful day out.
