Sharing a kiss at Ruby's beach

So we were watching tv last night when the phone rang, and it was Krista.  We knew that she'd been thrown from a horse she was riding on Wednesday night and assumed she was calling to assure us that she was okay.
She told us what had happened, couldn't remember a thing, had been checked for concussion, but felt okay, sore but okay.
Then she said, "What are you guys doing this weekend?"
"Nothing much.  How about you?"
"Well, Daniel and I were wondering if we could come over tomorrow or if it's  too short notice."
I practically leaped out of my chair with excitement.
"Of course you can come over!"
"Are you sure?"
"YES!"
So this morning Krista and her boyfriend Daniel arrived on the ferry and are staying until Sunday.  We couldn't wait to see them!  In the afternoon, we went to one of the must-visit places when the girls come over, Ruby's beach.  It was perfect, not too hot, the beach to ourselves, peaceful and relaxing.  Daniel went wading, we skipped rocks (tried to anyway - he had one skip at least 10 times), explored a bit of the beach.  Tomorrow it's off to the Saturday market, then to Auntie Pesto's for a dinner to celebrate Krista's graduation from college.
We're always so happy when the girls come over and this visit is such an unexpected treat!  It's Daniel's first time on Salt Spring and it's great to have him here too.
