Unhatched eggs in a funnel

A bird made a nest and layed some eggs in a rusty old funnel that was my parents put up as rustic decoration outside their outbuilding. Two of the eggs hatched but these two were unhatched and the mother seems to have abandoned the nest. It's actually surprising that two of the eggs hatched at all considering the relatively noisy/busy spot.
