Robin La Roca's journal

Olympic Family

One of the features of London during the current Olympiad is the army of volunteers who are on every corner, station platform and open space who in their purple polo shirts (the 'purple people' as they're becoming known) or high-vis pink tabards are keeping it all moving with a smile on their face.

Though I have to say that the excellent gentleman on the corner of Northumberland Avenue today had his very patience tried by the red man, the green man, and when we should or shouldn't cross the road. But he pulled through, as they all do.

Every time I see one of the volunteers it makes me smile. The whole thing is making me smile. It's brilliant.
