RW's Daily Exposures

Garden Sunflower

This sunflower grew from some black sunflower seed I used in my bird feeders last season.  I know this because it grew right next to the feeders and I didn't plant any.  It's about 7 feet tall.

I'm really glad I took this photo as one of our neighborhood squirrels found it and within 3 days ate the entire head.  Now, he's looking for other parts of my garden to raid.

Our local news guy says that we may be in for an early winter as some pine trees are losing their cones earlier than usual and the squirrels are quite active in harvesting food for the season.  My little entrepreneur is certainly in sync with that plan.

Enjoy!
