Breach!

A breaching Humpback whale off the coast of the Monterey Peninsula.  I helped lead a group trip and we saw over 100 whales!  I've never been on a trip like this.  It was the perfect storm; the weather had been cold for 2 weeks, it was still overcast, but the water warmed a couple of degrees and in came the krill.  Humpback whales love krill.  We also saw Blue whales (the largest animal on Earth), Fin whales, Black-footed Albatross, Auklets, Puffins, and on and on...

I doubt whether I'll ever go on another whale trip again as I've been on so many when you're lucky to see a few and many more when we saw nothing.  I hit the lotto once and I'm satisfied.

Enjoy!
