Main Beach

The river does not flow directly out to the sea. The sand buildup and low flow have forced the river to veer sharply to the right for a few hundred feet before emptying to the sea. The beachgoers on the spit either have to cross the river in  waist high water or come from the left where a high tide also could force wading in the water. This does not appear to have stopped many people on this beautiful Sunday.
