Spot the scarecrow

Tighnabruaich is a small village, situated along Argyll’s Secret Coast, located along the east coast of Loch Fyne, stretching into the Kyles of Bute.  Today we had an outing there from Portavadie; along part of a beautiful single track road, which Jeremy Clarkston rates as among his best driving experiences.  As you can see, the weather wasn't great, but the inhabitants had tried to encourage visitors along to support their Royal National Lifeboat Institution inshore lifeboat station that currently has an Atlantic 85 type lifeboat and tractor station.  The rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the passengers on the Waverly, the last sea-going paddle steamer in the world, who disembarked at the pier in time to watch a game of shinty, the main sport in the village in addition to sailing and yachting.  The wee ones had a great time seeking out the 20 or so scarecrows on a list that covered several villages in the region.
