Clifton Hill Track Construction

This track, rising up from the bottom of the Clifton cliffs at Peacocks Gallop, has been especially built so that the houses at the top can be demolished. It links the main road at the bottom of the cliffs with the top of Deans Head, which is also going to be partially demolished, to lessen future earthquake risk. It's an amazing piece of constructions. The diggers at the bottom of the cliffs are being driven remotely, by men standing high on fork lifts, back from the danger of rock fall. The last house waiting to be demolished, right out on the point, is Cotter's house, a well known landmark. It's just about fallen down on its own. It's sad to see. This is my entry for MonoMonday 131.

Work has resumed on my house today, and I've moved back to the neighbours. There's still no power to the house, and I'm not prepared to live in amongst what is essentially a work site! It's supposed to be signed off on Thursday. Supposed to be . . . . .  We'll see! My patience has worn very thin right now.

Thanks Skeena for hosting this month and for looking after another challenge for us.
