After a convivial evening we woke to rain, and went into Oslo by train. The extra is at the station as the train came in to turn around. The journey was efficient and we got off in the centre and wandered about. It was showery and we ended up in the town hall; it’s very grand inside, but not as nice as the one in Copenhagen. Outside it’s a fine example of 1950s modernist in brick and not particularly loved even now 60 plus years on. We went to Fram museum, which was really good, although it told me more about polar exploration than I wanted to know and less about the Fram itself.
