I had two other ideas for this MonoMonday which failed at the first hurdle, I couldn't find the props. I thought  this was probably better anyway as there seem to be  a lot of chain type links.
It's a pity I can't link to a photo  of my uncle who built one of the first fully automatic chain making machines.
