The amazing red lakes in France

I could not believe my eyes when I suddenly saw the lakes in Camargue in southern France.  The blue water in the delta where the Rhône meets the sea changed to bloody red in 2012. I can't imagine how it would have been interpreted for hundres or thousands years ago! The explanation is the high salt level.  A stunning and strange sight!
