Snow Globe

The lovely thing about celebrations is that flowers can come my way, if I'm lucky! I have been: the smell of the lilies which have just opened in the hall is beautiful and they look more than magnificent. Definitely deserving of a blip! Husband amassing hugh amounts of brownie points here!! However, I did want an unusual/quirky photo.

The three quite rough lobes of the stigma are covered with thick and sticky stigmatic fluid for the pollen on which to eventually settle. What fascinated me was the drip on the stigma. Just about to drop, it reflects the shapes and colours of the anthers and stamens surrounding it. Just like a snow globe!
