Escaping the heat

We have this old root that is decomposing in the backyard so today I was going to throw some of it out in the woods (so I will stop tripping over it in my flipflops!) but when I pulled the culprit loose this snail was hiding in the dark.  So I put it back over the spot where it was..I will just have to walk a different way.
