Church veg

St John's in  the centre of Yeovil is surrounded by beds of vegetables and only a few flowers.  Runner beans and sweetcorn and other edible plants seem to be the flavour of  the town council these days which hopefully will encourage other town folk to grow their own.  Not quite sure what happens to the ripened veg, whether it is gathered for food banks, farmers' markets or just left to be taken by passers by .....

A and her two granddaughters visited for a cuppa this afternoon.  The children and their mother have been over to the UK for their six weeks's rest from the gruelling summer heat of Dubai.  Kuwait's recent temperatures reached 54 degrees Centigrade!!
