Oregon's Mount Blanc*

*Apologies to intothehills. (Well, it is only a few thousand feet shy of equaling Mount Blanc's height!)

I have returned to the Bend area for a few days of meetings. I drove over the southwestern flank of the mountain to reach Bend, located in the high desert of central Oregon.

"Mount Hood, called Wy'east by the Multnomah tribe, is located about 50 miles (80 km) east-southeast of Portland. In addition to being Oregon's highest mountain, it is one of the loftiest mountains in the nation based on its prominence....

Mount Hood's is 11,249 feet (3,429 m). The peak is home to 12 named glaciers and snowfields. It is the highest point in Oregon and the fourth highest in the Cascade Range.(wikipedia)"

The extra is an early morning capture of a flower whose name is unknown to me.
