Kitchen mortar

I still use it to prepare the seasoning for the paella. I smash some garlic, parsley, a little salt, one or two stock cubs and the saffron in it with the pestle (?). Then I add it all to the fried onion, tomato and green pepper in the pan.  Later, I add some clams, squids and prawns. When everything is cooked I put all this mixture in the special pan for 'paella', and I add the rice and the water.
Mm...
