Ruddy IDs :)

I went to the Norman's Pond area of Fishers Green in the Lee Valley Park looking for dragonflies as it's #DragonflyWeek. I'm not scared of the larger dragons but the rattling of their wings makes me shiver. I didn't manage to capture any of them. I found a perfect exuvia clinging to a reed and shot that, then got this darter. It's ruddy difficult to separate the common and the ruddy darters. I think mine might be a ruddy as it has a 'waist' in its abdomen and its legs look black to me. :)

I got quite excited when I heard a classic plane approaching. More excited when it turned out to be a dragon. As with the Odonata, difficult to tell whether it was a de Havilland Dragonfly or a Dragon Rapide. :)
