Which Way Is Up?
The splendid galleried hallway near the entrance to the Wiesbaden Museum. There's mirror on the ground floor that rotates and pitches. It makes for a very weird sensation when you look down - an almost perfect high definition view of the roof (where there's another mirror offering a reflection of the detail up high).
This mirror completely scrambled my perceptions of depth and height and made staircases really difficult. We abandoned the museum after 40 minutes because I couldn't go up or downstairs any more.
Still we'd seen the Jawlensky & Macke Exhibition and there was some very pretty stuff.
And just so you know there was also a lot of honk that was meant to be art as well.
Afterwards we had the treat of driving through the centre of Wiesbaden at rush hour. This was another reminder of why I'll never have a driving licence. The number of Arschlöcher that seem to think they are entitled to an automatic right of way and who do not pay attention to anything but themselves would have me in intensive care in a week. It's bad enough being a passenger but driving would kill me.
