An Inspiring Man

Jamie Andrew, having lost both his feet and his hands 17 years ago in a mountaineering accident, encourages others to push beyond what they see as their personal limitations. http://www.jamieandrew.com. It was a privilege to spend 2 days is his company, with his friend, John, a self effacing doctor, and our quiet mountain guide, Steve. All are mountain men who could have huge egos but they are softly spoken, kind, and do not "blow their own trumpets".

Our route took us from the Kleine Matterhorn ski lift, above Zermatt, to the Cabana guida d'Ayas in Italy. We were going to climb Pollux on the way but the weather was changing so rapidly that we just got to the hut when a hail storm started.
