SAINT-POL-DE-LEON

We have had  a long day driving and are now in a lovely municipal campsite in Saintes that I have never visited before.

We spent last night at St Pol De Leon on a nice campsite only 15 minutes from Roscoff Port.  This view was taken from just outside the campsite entrance this morning.  We would like to come back here so we have booked a couple of nights on our way back.

We had the usual holiday failures and disasters.  Firstly we had forgotten that our electric kettle had gone wrong last year.  We plugged it in and fused the campsite electrics.

We therefore managed without electricity (not too hard).

We had to waste a little time today trying to find a replacement kettle.  The problem is that you need a low wattage kettle for campsite electrics but we eventually found a suitable replacement.

The drive down was uneventful until we noticed the satnav was warning us of a major holdup on the autoroute just short of our destination.  Luckily we were able to leave the motorway as the delay was approaching an hour and we had a very pleasant (and delay-free) meander down a small road to Saintes where we are now.

Off  to the coast near Biarritz tomorrow.
