Honey, you'll never guess

what I got on eBay! 

This sign has bothered me for quite a while.
I can't help but feel that the wording is wrong. 
 
This "acquired" fails to convey the distress, the "end of life as you knew it" feeling by those who "acquire" a brain injury. 


I cannot help but feel that "inflicted"  would do it more justice. 


What would you say Annie? Acquired or inflicted?
