Sandcastle Holidays

A door half shaded

We were fortunate enough to have another beach day today! This is a reason to rejoice on holiday in Scotland.

The beach of choice was at Kingsbarns - Cambo Sands to be precise. This offered the opportunity for fishing (husband and daughter), body surfing (son), reading (me). Then a stroll along the beach past the golfers on Kingsbarns Links, via Cambo wood to the Old Stables where the Heartwood Artists at Cambo exhibition is on. (Are you getting a sense of the Fife beaches and art exhibitions theme which is going on during our holidays?)

This is a picture of one of the doors of the Old Stables which, according to the catalogue for the exhibition, are amongst the oldest buildings remaining on the Estate - the central stalls in the stables are apparently unaltered since they were built in the 1760s.

Cambo is a magical place, and there are wonderful gardens, walks and sculptures to be explored there as well as the current exhibition.
