Cycling, cake and good company

A massive moment of achievement for me this morning. A gorgeous 6 mile bike ride along the River Thames with the lure of tea and cake at the excellent Whittington Tea Barge in Reading. It is extraordinary how peaceful it was just a few minutes from the huge noisy town, to be hearing nothing apart from the click of the wheels, the tyres crunching on the stoney track and feeling the sun on my face.

Having never learned to ride a bike as a child, and tried and failed to learn several times, I am massively grateful to two patient instructors and funding for lessons from Sustrans! The ride was organised as part of the Breeze network, fantastic.
