Open day at the allotments

We have a thriving allotments society in our town, with very enthusiastic gardeners.   Today was their open day, and as an added interest this year they ran a scarecrow competition.  They were quite ingenious in their building, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

The allotments themselves are really interesting, a lot of very good plots, some entertaining friends with wine and nibbles, others just there to give advice, tell names of plants, and generally talk.

There was also a tearoom, and some stalls selling plants and bric a brac, and all in all it was very interesting.

I always noticed that some people are joiners, and most of the people there are also members of walking clubs.   It seems if you join one society or club you join them all.

A great afternoon out, and the weather at least stayed dry, with sunny spells

Many thanks for the star and hearts; this is now on the Popular pages
