Ein Kerem

I took a bus over to Jerusalem where the pasta princess, Neelie, met me. We drove over to the Hadassa hospital, to meet Sivan. From the hospital you can see the suburb known as Ein Kerem, said to be the birth place of St John the Baptist.

Sivan is a student doctor at the hospital and had been taken on a tour of Ein Kerem, which she treated us to. I was impressed with all the info shed retained, but then hardly surprising as both girls are super smart.

Neelie works for the Ministry of Finance, currently working with the Health department on how to increase the number of places available for student doctors ( just a coincidence, no connection to Sivan! ).

After the tour, which took in Mary's Spring, where Mary met her cousin Elizabeth whilst they were both pregnant with Jesus and John ( which is now housed in a building that looks like a small church ) and the Catholic Church of St John the Baptist ( interior shot ), we had dinner at a nearby plant nursery that opens late for food and flowers!
