Second brood

A 10 km trek round another Lincolnshire tetrad, this time taking in the villages of Sedgebrook and Allington, as well as a range of footpaths and a green lane. I was on the edge of the Vale of Belvoir, which has quite a different character from the limestone, and though I didn't find anything spectacularly rare I amassed a respectable total of 213 species, including a few local species such as Barberry, Small Teasel and Round-leaved Fluellen.

On one stretch of green lane there was a lot of Field Scabious attracting a whole range of butterflies. I stopped for a while to watch and spotted Brimstone, Peacock, Red Admiral, Small Skipper, Meadow Brown, Gatekeeper, Green-veined White and Brown Argus - an excellent variety.
