Brave Blue World

Be still.

The quieter you are, the more you can hear.

Absolutely exhausted after the week and cricket yesterday and managed not a great deal but admin today. Pining for fresh air I went for a wander along the Gloucester-Sharpness canal in hope of a spectacular sunset and some nature. The former didn't really deliver but the latter...oh joy.
It was quiet anyway but at about nine o'clock an almost preternatural calm descended. The crickets stopped chirruping, the wood pigeons stopped cooing and even the Moorhens stopped scrapping and being generally obstreperous. The only noise was the gentle splish of Rudd (presumably) taking insects from the surface of the water and my own footsteps.
I walked back to the car almost in a trance.
Precious.
