Plus ça change...

So long and thanks...

...for fixing our heating.

We hope (!) that that's the last we'll see of the heating engineers. One (a family friend) came this morning and hoovered our gas pipes, the second arrived this evening and diagnosed yet another duff pump and a bizarre settings issue with the timers. Turns out that if you program the hot water for 10 minutes (which we had just because it was easier than changing the number of switching times) this is a signal to the boiler that you are trying to eliminate legionnaires disease in your building. It will then heat the water (forever, not just for 10 minutes) until the bugs are dead. So it just heats the water and not the rooms.

Hmmm.

So, tomorrow we will obviously all come down with legionnaires but at least we'll be warm.

Surely worth a prize for the most bizarre heating problem?

Here's my dinner, prepared by Mr B.
