Olympic hockey

It was an early start today with the hockey beginning at 8.30 and all the security to get through. It was all worth it though as the atmosphere built up in the stadium when the teams entered. Watching New Zealand beat Australia 1-0 and the Netherlands thrash Belgium 3-0 was one of the best experiences of my life.
London have made a fantastic job of the Olympic Park. We had to wait in an enormous queue just to get into the Olympic Megastore where I bought a tennis figurine.
In the evening we went to see the Proms which was fantastic. The Aldeburgh orchestra played four compositions which included Stravinsky's 'The rite of spring' and a modern piece which has never been played before.
A great day.
