Monk's House, Rodmell.

Leonard and Virginia Woolf's country house, this is quite near me, and I love to look round the (small) house, sit in the garden, and take a look at Virginia's writing room, above.  The door and windows look suspiciously modern though.

They had lots of visitors from the London literary and cultural intelligentsia.

Virginia certainly didn't have a stress-free existence (her sister Vanessa had a lot more fun), and committed suicide in a nearby river, aged 59. Nowadays she'd probably have been diagnosed as bipolar.
