Yorkshire Day today - when all good Yorkshire folk brag about celebrate how beautiful and special their county is.  They don't call it 'God's own county' for nowt now do they!

A few facts to tickle your fancy....
*  Sheffield FC was the first football club, formed in 1857.  (I wonder who they played?)
*  Thomas Crapper, who invented the modern loo, was born in Yorkshire in 1836.
*  If Yorkshire were an independent country, it would have finished 12th overall on the league table in the 2012 Olympics, boasting (again) 7 golds, 2 silvers, and 3 bronze medals.
*  Yorkshire has two National Parks, the North Yorks Moors and the Yorkshire Dales.
*  Today, the Yorkshire Dales has expanded its area by 25%, to include parts of Cumbria......and Lancashire. :O
