Went over to the scene of destruction of yesterday to count the rings on the tree stumps. 54 I was able to count. Which means that also here the highest trees are only secondary forest growth, or maybe even third. I think the logging activity of the 'white man' in this area started in the twenties of the last century or earlier.
On the surface of the cuts hundreds of little drops were glistening in the sunlight. Not water but resin. Couldn't help myself, had to think of tears.

Thank you for your kind feedback for yesterdays picture. Please forgive my silence in many of your journals. Summer harvesting activities are taking their toll.
