Kenilworth Castle

Today it was Kenilworth Castle. It’s an English Heritage property, and they had jugglers and artists demonstrating circus skills, and children (or adults!) could join in. There was also a “Knight School” running several times during the day, when youngsters were taught how to handle and use their (wooden) swords.
It was all great fun and thoroughly enjoyable.  Kai wanted to go  to see a castle during their visit, so that’s another one ticked off the list.
I forgot to mention yesterday that after the lavender farm, we visited Snowshill Manor (National Trust) and we picked up the booklet “50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾”. Kai is going to see how many he can cross off while they are in England  – number two is “Roll down a really big hill”.  He achieved that today by rolling down the hill that Kenilworth Castle is built on.
If you look carefully, our lot are sitting on the grassy bank. You can just see some of the castle, top right.
After this we enjoyed a picnic on the grass in the centre of the castle.
I'm sorry I'm even more useless at commenting / responding at the moment, but when we're not on the go or eating, we're in bed, snoring.
