A day of farewells to our amazing hosts for this study visit - Annette and Cassie from Global Ties Miami - before heading to the airport for the overnight flight home.

So many fantastic memories from this incredible trip. Feeling so grateful to have had this opportunity to meet so many brilliant people and to explore volunteerism and social action in the USA. Lots of learning, lots of questions and lots of reflection - and lots of new connections made. Huge thanks to the #IWill campaign, the US Embassy in London and the US State Department for making it happen - it really was a once in a lifetime experience.

But a special mention is required for the quite simply awesome group of people who have been my colleagues on this study trip. We started as 10 relative strangers, but have finished with such strong bonds. Being alongside them, sharing experiences, deep discussions and so many laughs has been a total joy. It's been a delight to get to know them and it gives me such hope to know there are such brilliant, passionate and compassionate people who are champions for young people across the UK and beyond.
