going for it

Considering Tom and Jim hadn't played badminton before yesterday they've certainly taken to it. This is Tom just managing to get to the shuttlecock in time (and of course Nelly helps). I reckon they'll be tired tonight!
Many many years ago Mr Inkface and I used to play badminton on this very lawn when we were courting.
