Green Heron with Large Tadpole

We went with Daralee to the Fort River Refuge today, before she took the train to return to New York City.  We saw at least two adult green herons and a juvenile, as well as other things.  Here is an adult heron with a tadpole well on its way to turning into a frog. (NB: we're seeing the tail from the side here, so it looks narrow; other images show it broadside, looking wide and still with its membrane.) The extra shows a close-up.  I'll post more extras tomorrow (it's late); it was a very good morning.

Two more extras (next day): The juvenile (teenage) green heron, and a Pearl Crescent butterfly.
