Walking to Brooklyn

Except for the heat, today was perfect! We took our time getting going (much chatting) and then all decided to walk over the Brooklyn Bridge -which was fabulous - although there was some sort of construction going on to hide some of the view. Once in Brooklyn, 2 cab drivers had no clue where or what the Brooklyn Art Museum was, but we managed to direct one to it. The reason for our visit was for N to see Judy Chicago's Dinner Party permanent installation. B and I had seen it back in the early 80s when it toured internationally. 39 pioneering women are honored with a place setting including a specialized ceramic plate and a needlework runner, from "primordial goddess" to "Georgia O'Keefe" with 999 other notable women's names in the floor tiles. It was a thrill! They also have a great Egyptian collection. Too hot for the nearby botanical garden :-( so we hopped on the subway (easier than the trek there!) and went for a coffee shop in Chelsea with AC! And then it was time for dinner- Basque tapas in our neighborhood. Yum! Perfect!
We're not done catching up yet!! More later....

Chose this picture for all those lines - looking back to NYC from Brooklyn.
