The English Civil War - A history lesson

From this point can be viewed, beyond the trees, the field where the first battle of the English Civil War took place on October 23rd 1642. It was a bloody battle and both Royalists and Parliamentarians lost many men with the results being a draw.
The Civil War lasted from 1642 to 1651. King Charles 1 was found guilty of high treason and executed by beheading on 30 January 1649.

Charles 11 was restored as king in 1660.

And the rest is history, or so they say. I wonder how different England /Uk would be if the Restoration had not taken place. Who can tell?
