Pargeted cottage in Saffron Walden, Essex

Despite its modern appearance, this cottage must be several hundred years old.  The mansard roof is probably a later addition.  Note also the diagonally sited door at right.

Its pargeting is almost certainly modern, but is based on traditional styles.

The cottage is adjacent to a path to the delightful Bridge End Garden, comprising seven interlinked gardens in Victorian style.  It covers 2.7 ha. (or 7 acres.)
