Santa in August

August is always a worrying time for farmers - their crops are almost ready for harvesting and they want to stop the birds from eating their fill. That's where Santa comes in - he acts as a scarecrow for his local farmer. It's hot and thirsty work and the birds seem more bemused than frightened, but hey, if it keeps them off the crops!
